[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As a working mother, Elizabeth Fiedler is honored to announce endorsements from National Organization of Women (NOW) and Emily’s List.
Elizabeth is an active community member and the mother of two young children from a working class family. She is the daughter of two union public school teachers and is a former public radio reporter who covered politics and education.
In accepting the powerful endorsements, Elizabeth said, “We need more women in elected office, holding positions of power, leading our country and our communities. As a city, a state and a country we face big challenges: from fully and fairly funding our schools, to fighting for a healthcare system that prioritizes our lives. We need brave, fearless leaders who will represent us and who are not afraid to confront power on our behalf.”
Elizabeth is running for State Representative in the 184th because she is committed to prioritizing the needs of working people over the profits of corporations and the super rich. Pennsylvania is 49th in the nation in women holding elected office. Elizabeth Fiedler, NOW and Emily’s List are committed to changing this dismal statistic. Elizabeth’s campaign is building a broad coalition of support across organized labor, long time community members, progressives
and community organizations.
NOW works to realize a broad vision of progress for women and their families, to promote constitutional equality, combat systemic racism, advocate for economic security and reproductive justice, end violence against all women, push for immigration reform, and fight for LGBTQ rights.
EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, is committed to increasing the number of women elected in Pennsylvania.
The support from Emily’s List and the National Organization of Women joins an impressive list of endorsements from the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, American Federation of Teachers, AFSCME DC33, DC47, 1199C Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals, Pennsylvania Working Families Party, UNITE HERE!, Teamsters Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, Representative Brian Sims, Equality Pennsylvania, Reclaim Philadelphia, Our Revolution, Liberty City Democratic Club, DSA, Food & Water Action and Grassroots Advocacy for South Philadelphia.
