Philadelphia teachers took to the streets last week to protest the School District of Philadelphia’s decision to return to in-person learning for students in grades pre-k through second grade starting Feb. 22.
“We need to make sure our school buildings are safe for teachers, for school staff, for students,” said Fiedler. “We know there were unsafe conditions before the pandemic related to lead, asbestos, rodent problems.”
